Aristides Hernandez Guerrero, ARES

Ares was born in Havana, Cuba on september 2, 1963. His education included the study of medicine (Graduated in 1987) and psychiatry (Graduated in 1993).

Ares has made cartoons, paintings, illustrations and animated films, he currently works in Havana as a freelance artist.

He has won more than 100 awards, 83 of them at international level and has published fifteen books. His cartoons are published around the world, he has illustrated more than fifty books and has worked in TV and film with some of his works being used to make short animated films (Filminutos).

In 2002, Ares received the National Culture Medal from the Cuban Cultural Minister, is the vice-president of the visual artist association of the Cuban Artists and Writers Union (UNEAC).

Ares nació en La Habana, Cuba el 2 de septiembre de 1963. Graduado de médico psiquiatra.

Ha realizado dibujos de humor, ilustraciones y colaborado con el cine de animación, actualmente trabaja como artista independiente en La Habana.

Ha obtenido más de un centenar de premios, 83 de ellos de nivel internacional y ha publicado quince libros. Sus caricaturas se publican en todo el mundo, ha ilustrado más de cincuenta libros y ha trabajado para la televisión y los dibujos animados (Filminutos).
