Hans Haacke. Castles in the air

The Museo Reina Sofía (Madrid, Spain) organizes the show Hans Haacke. Castles in the air, which will be running until July 23. The exhibition examines the relationships between art, patronage and advertising and is made up of his most recent project, which focuses on the Spanish situation, and some of his pre-existing pieces.

Hans Haacke (1936), a German-born artist living in New York since the 1960s, is one of the pioneers and main representatives of what is known as institutional critique. In his work he looks at the different ways that political and economic institutions make use of prestige in the art sphere.

The artist has exhibited in major museums of contemporary art, including the Tate and the Pompidou, which have some of the most important works of Haacke.

Location: Museo Nacional Centro de Arte Reina Sofía, Santa Isabel 52, 28012, Madrid. Spain.
