KERRYN MADSEN-PIETSCH, AUSTRALIA
BIOGRAPHY Kerryn Madsen-Pietsch, born 1956, Ararat, Victoria, grew up on a country farm, near Hall's Gap in the Grampians, Victoria. Between formal qualifications Madsen-Pietsch worked and travelled interstate gaining life experiences. She settled in Innisfail, North Qld, 1985 to teach, raise a family with her Far North Qld indigenous husband Cliff Madsen (Kuku Yalangi language group). Parallel to a long art teaching career is Madsen-Pietsch's continual commitment to developing her professional art practice in several directions. She has numerous drawing, painting, fibre and sculpture awards and regional exhibition achievements behind her. Madsen-Pietsch has become an exemplary art role model in the community serving voluntarily in her community in many art roles/positions ........ as an administrator, steward, judge, organizer and coordinator to many professional development workshops, local exhibitions and more recent as curator and Flying Arts regional representative. Her most recent achievements are the selected touring of her recent exhibition to Townsville and conducting adult abstract art workshops. ...
