EL RETRATO EN EL MONTEVIDEO COLONIAL
Retrato de una época
en que empiezas a ser ciudad;
la gente que llega
embarcada está.
Bajan en tu puerto
abrazados a su cuna;
y pronto se convierten
en paseantes bajo la luna.
Amanecen en las calles
sin saber que hacer;
y llevados por el hambre
dibujan sin saber.
Más el tiempo pasa
y se comienza a aprender,
y poco a poco van surgiendo
los retratistas coloniales del ayer.
