EXPLICACION DE LA OBRA
En el fondo de la pintura:

JESUS DIRIGE UNA PLEGARIA POCO ANTES DEL PRENDIMIENTO. EN EL HUERTO DE GETSEMANÍ, ALEJADO DE LOS DISCÍPULOS HABLA DEL CALIZ DE LA PASIÓN Y SEGÚN SAN LUCAS APARECE UN ÁNGEL PARA FORTALECERLO.
En el primer plano de la pintura:
DESPUES DE LA ORACIÓN JESUS ESTÁ PREPARADO PARA SER ENTREGADO. JUDAS DA UN BESO A JESUS, QUE ES LA SEÑAL CONVENIDA PARA APRESARLO.
