“Paisito”, te llaman cariñosamente,
tus hijos que te aman y a ti volverán,
aunque estén muy lejos, aunque se hayan ido
buscando un futuro, siempre te amarán.

Yo llegué una tarde buscando mi sino,
trayendo mis ansias hasta aquí llegué,
tú fuiste cobijo, tendiste tus brazos,
y a una parte tuya mi amor le brindé.

El hombre que me ama es fiel hijo tuyo,
bueno, generoso, dulce como miel,
él abrió sus brazos como tú lo hiciste,
curó mis heridas y volví a creer.

Soy tu hija adoptiva, te siento mi patria,
muy atrás quedaron las penas de ayer,
y si debo un día buscar otros cielos,
¡Uruguay hermoso, no te olvidaré!
