Himmelswasser überall, rot wie Blut die Sonne, und eine Riesen-Schlange pflegt ihr Gefieder; neben ihr steht der Sohn des Himmels, aus dem Land der aufgehenden Sonne flog dieser Bartvolle mit dem Tier hierher, und das ewige Blutvergießen soll er zum friedlichen Ende bringen; der suchende Mensch fragt den Ankommenden: „Ist dein Flugtier nun ein Vogel oder eine Schlange?“; und der Sohn der Schwerter meint friedlich: „Die Vogelflügel symbolisieren das Himmlische, den Geisthauch der Wolken und Regenfluten, und der Schlangenkörper versinnbildlicht das Erdige, die schweren Gewitter und Taifungewalten; diese Vogelschlange ist sowohl Herr, als auch Diener, sie gibt oder nimmt, und sie ist die unbesiegbare Hüterin der geheimen Quelle, wo der heilige Universumbaum mit dem Achsenkreuz steht; diese allmächtige Himmelsachse führt geradeaus zu den Sternen, einst werde ich auf diesem geheimen Weg in meine Heimat zurückkehren, und nur einen sprechenden Stein werde ich zurücklassen, mit einer goldenen Kette an einen silbernen Pfahl gefesselt!“; der Suchende verabschiedet sich von Tier und Prinz, die Menschen will er fragen, ob sie den aus dem Meer Entstiegenen willkommen heißen, und was sie zu seinem schwarzweißroten Tier sagen; der Prinz der Schwerter betrachtet aufmerksam das leere Kreuz am Himmelsberg, Sonne, Mond und Planeten zieren sowohl den Ätherhimmel als auch sein Reisegewand, und eigentlich ist er immer unterwegs, entweder unten oder oben…
