Who was Jaime Albánez?
* He was born in Caracas on July 2, 1915.
* He began his career with Eduardo Cambellas and later became a laboratory technician at the Caraballo-Gramcko Workshop.
* In 1938, he joined the Ministry of Education in the Educational Film section.
* He was a founding member of the Circle of Photojournalists and the AVP (Association of Photographers), along with Juan Avilán, Aníbal Rivero, Luis Noguera, and Edmundo "Gordo" Pérez.
* For years, he was the official photographer for General Medina Angarita, who hired him at National Cartography, where he collaborated with photographer Carlos Herrera. In the late 1940s, he opened his own studio: Estudio Albánez, through which he delved into genres such as portraiture and scientific photography without abandoning his journalistic work.
* In 1949, he began his filmmaking career at Bolívar Films Studios, working as a still photographer on all of the company's productions. In 1953, he entered the world of television as head of computer graphics and lighting at Televisa.
* He died in July 1993 at the age of 83.
How did I obtain the photos? They were a family heirloom. The photos are in very good condition, all bearing his signature. The artist was an expert in the silver gelatin technique, and are made of cotton. Each piece measures 113 m x 75 cm and is unframed.
