This is my second completed artwork, which addresses the theme of contemporary warfare. The current situation is increasingly complex, and as artists, we bear the responsibility to reflect the realities of our beloved planet. With only colors, brushes, and pencils at our disposal, we lack the power to effect change or provoke any organization. My intention in sharing this artwork stems from a sense of duty as a fellow human being and artist. In a world where the truth is often obscured, I present this piece as a humble appeal for peace. Titled "Need to Preserve Homo sapiens: 1," it is created with charcoal on paper. This work aims to illustrate the catastrophic consequences that could arise from the use of nuclear weapons in ongoing conflicts, potentially erasing the progress made since the time of archaic Homo sapiens, who lived 300,000 years ago. As modern Homo sapiens, who have existed for approximately 160,000 years, we must question why we find ourselves in a nuclear age. It is crucial to navigate the delicate balance between good and evil, and I hope we can approach this reality with caution and mindfulness.
