Pink Enclosure

A solitary figure stands against an intense pink ground, interrupted by black vertical lines and flashes of electric blue and yellow. The figure appears both present and partially absorbed by the surrounding paint. Pink Enclosure uses striking color and an ambiguous sense of confinement to explore how a person can become an image to be watched, judged or defined by others. Its direct gaze gives this contemporary figurative painting an unsettling intimacy.
