A face turned toward eternity

What the viewer sees is not a portrait of a specific individual, but an embodiment of memory, manifested in a human face. Every wrinkle serves as a trace of time lived, while the gaze - devoid of any overt drama - is directed toward that point where human destiny touches eternity.

The feathers crowning the old man’s head are no mere decorative detail; they extend the silhouette of his figure, transforming into something akin to rays or wings that connect the man to the sky. There is no attempt here at heroization, nor is there any ethnographic illustration. We are presented with a man who has maintained his inner dignity in the face of time.

"A Face Turned Toward Eternity" is a meditation on memory - a memory that resides not only in books and legends, but within the human being themselves. True wisdom is born not of knowledge, but of a life lived. Time may alter the face, yet it cannot extinguish the inner light, provided a person has managed to preserve it until the very end of their journey.
