This fascinating painting offers an artistic interpretation of the planet Mercury, the closest celestial body to the sun in our solar system. Unlike the often grey and monotonous depiction of Mercury in scientific illustrations, a vibrant and colourful vision of the planet is presented here. Mercury's surface is depicted in a spectrum of colours ranging from deep blues, yellows and oranges to purples and whites. The bright, star-shaped spots scattered across the surface are particularly striking.
