Post-Alienation — Blue Figure in Yellow and Pink

A faceless blue figure takes shape within vivid passages of cobalt, yellow and pink. Its dark, sculptural hairstyle provides a distinct outline, while broad brushstrokes dissolve the body into the surrounding colour. The contrast between a recognisable silhouette and an unstable surface gives the painting its tension.

From Gela Mikava’s Post-Alienation series, this original acrylic painting on cardboard considers identity through a figure that remains visible without becoming fully defined. Areas of dense colour, exposed brushwork and descending marks create a shifting relationship between body and background.
