This is the first photograph of a nude model taken by photographer Peruska Chambi in her career, and also the first time the swimmer Miguel appeared as a nude model. It was the first image they created together and served as the inspiration for many of her subsequent nude portrait photographs. It is a beautiful image that highlights the face of Miguel—who still looks like a boy—in a pose that reveals very little, yet is highly evocative. This is an analog, black-and-white photograph from an unpublished collection by the Peruvian indigenista photographer Peruska Chambi. Originally captured on film, it was later digitized for reproduction, with no digital intervention or manipulation applied to the image.
