In this work I take up thematically works by Barnett Newman. However, I would like to distance myself from the word "zip". I rather refer to this process as "cut out". While Newman uncovered his zip afterwards, I create my cut outs from an area-filling image and reduce it. A suitable color is then applied in order to achieve an almost meditative, calming effect that does not lose its tension.
