Antuán EL8

Antuán EL8 (Madrid, 1970) paints so he does not have to lie completely. Working across painting, drawing and digital art, he creates faces, figures and worlds that invite a second look. Each collection has a character of its own, guided by an intuitive and independent vision.

His visual language has also found a home in music. He has created covers, identities and graphic worlds for Ska-P, M-Clan, Barón Rojo and Hamlet, as well as work for Schweppes, El Corte Inglés and Movistar. In 1992 Editorial Turner recognized his proofreading, design and layout work on the Manuscript of Saint John of the Cross.

He has exhibited alongside Fabio McNamara and photographer Luis Baylón, and shown work with Colectivo Interruptus at La Boca del Lobo in Madrid and Sala Naranja in Valencia. Painting, design, printmaking and other forms of expression all follow the same impulse: to keep creating in his own voice. He calls the intuition behind each new piece his 'eighth sense'.
