BIOGRAPHY OF FERNANDO GARCÍA GUEMBE

I am a self-taught sculptor who sees sculpture as a personal means of expression and communication.

My work moves between figuration and abstraction, exploring forms that sometimes evoke human and animal figures, while at other times move beyond the recognisable, allowing material, volume and imagination to take centre stage.

I work primarily with iron, experimenting with different techniques and finishes, while also incorporating materials such as concrete and plaster.

I am interested in discovering the expressive potential of each material, transforming its inherent qualities and bringing to life sculptures with a distinctive character and identity.

I have taken part in numerous exhibitions in art galleries, art fairs and cultural centres.
