BIOGRAPHY OF ELENA PARAU

Elena Parau's international demand for her colourful textured originals has been increasing every year. Her paintings are found in private collections on 5 continents in over 25 countries.

This emerging artist had recent sales in Canada, Germany, Japan, Mexico, Spain, Switzerland, Taiwan, Turkey, Rep Dominicana and USA.

Originally from Romania, Elena is an experienced artist currently based in Guadalajara, Mexico.

Proudly self-taught with more than 18 years of practice developing unique techniques, for her, words and images have always been connected when it comes to creativity. She has been feeling attracted to painting since she was a little girl, and her art has always been about offering a positive, hopeful message in contrast to her childhood time in Romania, when the communist regime allowed for little colour and free artistic expression.

In 2008 she decided to turn her artistic expression into a career and she began selling her creations Internationally. She also developed an interest in psychology, spirituality, meditation and personal development, all these subjects deeply influencing her as a human being and as an artist. Along the way she was inspired by thinkers such as Louise Hay, Wayne Dyer, Neale Donald Walsh, Deepak Chopra. Furthermore, she learned about angel therapy from Doreen Virtue.

Starting with 2014 she gave up his successful career in banking and she started to live only abroad, in Rome (Italy), Toronto (Canada), Bogota (Colombia) and Guadalajara (Mexico) and enriched her style of painting.

She speaks 4 languages fluently: English, Spanish, Italian and Romanian.

The experiences she had during her living abroad, especially in Canada, Colombia, Mexico and Italy – sights, colours, shapes, sounds and flavours – have been an inspiration for her artistic work. The passion and intensity of each painting by Elena Parau reflects both her individual artistic aims and a personal journey through life.

Elena’s work is well known for its sophisticated, elegant style and fresh color palette. She uses her brushes as a powerful tool of self-expressions. As an artist she translates the surrounding world into a language of colors, transforms the emotions into graceful forms and refined shapes. The use of brilliant color schemes and intriguing texture makes her artworks stand out and reflects the unique ability to create visual impact on the viewer.

She likes to immerse the viewer in unique and comfortable experiences of colors and textures. She likes art that is pretty, mysterious, interesting, feminine, sensual, and that expresses a special mood. She likes to paint in an abstract way and to combine different elements of flowers, human bodies, texture, but there are many other ideas she is trying to capture. Also, she likes to leave space for the fantasy of the viewer.

Her paintings are healing because she healed herself of her fears by painting intuitively, allowing herself to be present in the creative process and to be guided in an authentic way. Traveling and living in different countries, Elena understood that there are no borders and that only our mind is the only obstacle in the realization of dreams.
