Artwork details
This oil painting shows the portrait of a Lippizan stallion against a light, blue background. The horse is depicted in profile, with its head and part of its neck visible. The depiction of the horse is realistic and detailed. The white coat is painted with fine shading and grey tones, giving the animal depth and texture. The fine details on the horse's face are particularly striking - the expressive, dark eye and the attentively forward-facing ears. The contrast between the light-coloured horse and the turquoise background is very effective and makes the animal stand out. The background itself is kept simple, with slight colour variations that give the picture depth. Overall, the painting conveys an impression of calm and elegance, emphasising the noble beauty and gentle character of the horse.
