DESCRIPCIÓN DEL AUTOR:
Construcción defensiva de acabado cristiano-medieval, coronanado el cerro de Santa Catalina en Jaén.
El nombre le viene dado por la capilla que se construiría en el castillo en honor a Santa Catalina de Alejandría, tras la conquista de Jaén por Fernando III el Santo en 1246, que se la arrebató al rey moro Al-Ahamar.
