Una masía es un tipo de construcción rural, muy frecuente en todo el este de la península Ibérica, concretamente en el antiguo reino de Aragón que tiene sus orígenes en las antiguas villas romanas. En el este de Teruel recibe el nombre de "masada" y en otras partes también se le llama mas. Se trata de construcciones aisladas, ligadas siempre a una explotación agraria y ganadera de tipo familiar.
