Hijo de Pasifae y Toro de Creta, nacido con el nombre de Asterione, horrible y feroz, constantemente presa de su instinto animal.
En esta composición, parece más humana y menos taurina, en una actitud protectora hacia una figura femenina, rodeada por cuatro elefantes y un alce intrigado.
