The intrepid Prometheus
Artwork details
In The Intrepid Prometheus, the mythological figure becomes a symbol of the human impulse to transcend imposed limits. Rather than depicting punishment, the painting focuses on the instant before transgression: the moment in which desire, ambition and consciousness push the individual beyond restraint.
Within The Error of Prometheus, fire becomes an ambiguous symbol. It represents knowledge, creation and progress, but also the possibility that reason and ambition may generate excess, domination and fracture.
Far from presenting Prometheus as a triumphant hero, the work approaches him as a deeply human figure, driven by the need to go beyond himself despite the risk of collapse.
