Born in 1946 in Piñeyro, Avellaneda (Argentina), she redirected her path from medicine to contemporary art, training from 1976 with fine arts masters in Buenos Aires. She has received awards and held numerous exhibitions in Argentina and in Spain, where she has lived for the past 24 years.
She is the author of Arte-ciencia versus ciencia-arte and Mónica Rúa en colores. She continues painting, developing her literary work, and exploring art as a therapeutic tool.
