Ecos del viejo jardín (Echoes of the Old Garden)

Este jardín perteneció a los pabellones militares de oficiales y suboficiales del cuartel que había en Plasencia: el Batallón de Ametralladoras nº 37, este cuartel fue centro de reclutas y también destino para muchos.
Abandonado a su suerte cuando los militares se fueron de aquí fue arruinándose poco a poco hasta que finalmente fue derruido para crear una calle que diera paso al tráfico rodado. La fotografía que hice para pintar esta acuarela esta sacada desde la acera de la avenida por donde transita la gente. No quise que quedara en el olvido y lo plasmé con mis acuarelas.

This garden was once part of the officers' and non-commissioned officers' quarters at the Plasencia barracks—home to the 37th Machine Gun Battalion—which served as both a recruitment center and a duty station for many.
Left to its fate after the military departed, the site gradually fell into ruin until it was finally demolished to make way for a street for vehicular traffic. The photograph I used as a reference for this watercolor was taken from the avenue's sidewalk, where pedestrians pass by. I did not want it to be forgotten, so I captured it in watercolor.
