BONOBIA 7/10

A series of illustrations drawn with markers of various sizes. BONOBIA is an invented world based on the following premise: it appears that the chimpanzee is the closest animal relative from which we evolved. However, there is a twin ape species—the bonobo. Physically, they are nearly identical, yet their behavior is completely different. While chimpanzees are extremely territorial and violent, bonobos resolve their differences in a different way: through sex. Violent encounters between bonobos are very rare. This led me to ask myself: what would have happened if, instead of chimpanzees, we had evolved from bonobos? In this series, I explore various scenarios. In this particular piece, I imagine the bonobo creation myth.
