Between memory and fantasy - Entre la memoria y la fantasía

“Entre la memoria y la fantasía” explora la sutil complejidad que subyace a lo que vemos a primera vista. La capa blanca final no pretende borrar los colores subyacentes, sino suavizarlos y difuminarlos, del mismo modo que nuestras experiencias, sentimientos y recuerdos se desvanecen con el tiempo.
Las historias no desaparecen; se transforman, se repliegan y se conservan en la memoria del lienzo. Aquí, la capa superior no borra; abre un espacio y nos invita a imaginar lo que persiste bajo la superficie, a percibir las huellas silenciosas del pasado.

“Between memory and fantasy” explores the subtle complexity underlying what we see at first glance. The final white layer doesn't erase the underlying colors, but rather softens and blurs them, just as our experiences, feelings, and memories fade with time.
Stories don't disappear; they transform, fold back, and are preserved in the memory of the canvas. Here, the top layer doesn't erase; it opens a space and invites us to imagine what persists beneath the surface, to perceive the silent traces of the past.
The painting contains various coats of acrylic paint made by mixing pigments with different mediums on an acrylic base. Once dry between coat and coat they are sanded and scratched off till former layers of paint will appear. That way the painting receives its profoundness.
The canvas is stretched over professionally made wooden stretcher bars.
The sides are painted so the art work is ready to hang.
