Estas olas tan encrespadas aparecen en la Albufera cuando hace viento de poniente (Al contrario que en el mar cercano) La coloración anaranjada o amarilla de los picos se debe a las algas propias del lago.
Cuando estás cerca impresiona contemplarlo, porque la superficie, habitualmente tranquila, se torna amenazante, simulando por el colorido cuchillos de sílice afilados.
La gaviota, que se deja llevar por el oleaje, tiene el entretenimiento asegurado.
