“What You Give Back No Longer Weighs on You” · 2026

This time I painted the opposite gesture to the thread that holds. The woman stands with her back to us, head turned over her shoulder, looking down, and the hand hanging at her side no longer grips anything — it lets fall, one by one, small fragments of stone with veins of gold built in bas-relief. Above, at the nape of the neck and along the spine, the same gold flows like a fine crack, but here it no longer gathers — it breaks away, falls, scatters across the floor, beyond the body. I wanted a painting about release: you can't build something new while you're still holding tightly to every piece of what hurt you. Restituire is about the hand that, finally, opens and gives back to the world what no longer belongs to it.
