This contemporary figurative painting explores vulnerability, self-protection and the instinctive human need to withdraw into oneself.

Her crossed legs and arms create a compact, almost circular form, suggesting both physical protection and emotional isolation. The gesture of holding herself becomes a visual metaphor for seeking safety within one’s own body when the surrounding world feels uncertain or overwhelming.
The work is executed in acrylic with pronounced impasto, creating a highly tactile, sculptural surface. Thick layers of paint build the figure and the surrounding space through visible ridges, scraped passages and expressive brushwork.
