Artwork details
This drawing shows an impressive portrait of two foals in coloured pencil. The composition presents the animals in a harmonious and intimate depiction that emphasises their natural beauty and noble character. They appear to be friends. Both animals are looking in the same direction, which lends the picture a calm, almost meditative atmosphere. Fine strokes and careful shading have been used to capture the different textures of the horse's coat. Particularly impressive are the details in the horses' eyes, nostrils and ears, which give them a lively and attentive expression. Overall, the drawing exudes an atmosphere of calm and grace. It not only captures the physical appearance of the horses, but also conveys something of their dignity and gentle nature. The depiction demonstrates a deep understanding and appreciation for these majestic animals.
