Artwork details
The painting depicts an expressionist cityscape, where buildings rise in the background in cool, gray, and blue tones, with energetic brushstrokes that suggest movement and texture. In the foreground, the turbulent sea occupies much of the composition, full of dark contrasts and reflections, conveying strength and dynamism. Amidst the waves, a sailboat is visible, listing, almost battling the swell, which adds dramatic tension to the scene.
The "eye" could be interpreted as the focal point of the work: the sail stands out amidst the marine and urban chaos, like a point of light and resilience.
