El cuadro muestra un conjunto de pitas (plantas suculentas de hojas largas, carnosas y puntiagudas) en tonos verdes intensos. Las hojas, que crecen erguidas y en distintas direcciones, contrastan con un fondo cálido en amarillos, naranjas y ocres, evocando la luz del atardecer o el calor de la tierra árida. La técnica realizada con pasteles y con trazos visibles que transmiten textura y vitalidad.
