La obra representa una regata de vela latina canaria, una tradición marinera muy arraigada en las Islas Canarias. En primer plano se distinguen dos embarcaciones con los números 18 y 17 en sus velas, navegando paralelas y muy próximas, reflejando la intensidad de la competición. Al fondo aparece otro bote con el número 37, y más lejos, casi difuminado en el horizonte, se ve una cuarta embarcación. El mar se muestra en distintos tonos de azul y verde, con estelas blancas que delatan la fuerza del viento y el movimiento ágil de las naves. En las velas puede leerse el patrocinio “La Caja de Canarias”, un símbolo habitual en las competiciones de este deporte autóctono.
