Geometric Dog — Orange and Yellow

Geometric Dog — Orange and Yellow is assembled from an orange square head with a red circular detail, an arched yellow body, and an upright yellow tail. Its colored foam components connect with magnets. The contrast between the circle, square, triangle, and curved opening turns a familiar animal silhouette into a vivid sculptural composition.

The work belongs to Ruso’s exploration of how a living companion can become an object of display. Its bright colors and modular construction evoke the attraction of a toy or collectible design piece. Beneath that playful surface is a question about contemporary pet culture: when we choose an animal for the image it projects, how does that shape the way we see it?
