Executed in oil on paper mounted on wood and measuring 30 x 21 cm, this work captures the timeless serenity of a traditional farmhouse in the Alto Maestrazgo region, situated between the municipalities of Mirambel and La Mata de Morella. The use of paper mounted on wood provides an ideal support, combining a smooth surface texture with great stability, allowing the artist to employ precise brushwork rich in light nuances.

The composition organizes the rustic landscape by harmonizing the rural architecture with the natural elements of the surroundings:





Foreground: A wide expanse of rustic terrain in warm shades of ochre, sienna, and earthy yellow catches the day's sunlight. Crossing the left side, the elongated shadow of a simple wooden post traces a diagonal line that adds dynamism and depth to the scene.



Middle ground: The farmhouse complex stands as the painting's focal point, featuring luminous walls that reflect direct light and roofs of traditional curved tiles in reddish-brown and ochre hues. Accompanying the buildings, the vegetation combines dense, dark thickets, the delicate tracery of low-growing fruit trees, and the slender presence of a vertical cypress on the right—acting as a natural architectural counterpoint.



Background and sky: Behind the farmhouse, the mountainside rises in dense greenery that gradually blends into soft blue and indigo outlines against the distant ranges, all beneath a clear sky filled with atmospheric luminosity.
