Innocence 2. I paint to hold onto what time erases most cruelly: innocence. In this work, I approach childhood not as a romanticized postcard, but as a living, fragile, and complex territory. I am interested in capturing that moment just before movement—the gentle pressure of fingers against fabric, the silent dialogue between a gaze and its surroundings. These are scenes that, in their apparent simplicity, might go unnoticed, yet they hold an intensity capable of moving the viewer and stirring memory. Pictorial realism is my way of lending presence and permanence to the ephemeral. It allows me to translate the tension between the fleeting and the eternal into paint. Light and color are not merely formal devices; they are the emotional pulse of the image. Here, the vibrant orange of the dress set against the deep green of the landscape acts not only as a chromatic contrast but as a heartbeat suspended amidst the calm—a silent affirmation of life and vulnerability. I seek to sensitize the viewer, inviting them to pause and look again. My aim is not simply to evoke nostalgia, but to prompt reflection on the fragility of these moments and the urgency of cherishing them. In my work, innocence is not naivety; it is a poetic act of resistance against the speed and harshness of the adult world.
