Introspective look

This work is a profound exploration of the inner world, capturing the physical and emotional essence of introspection. The portrait depicts an elderly Indigenous woman with a gentle, introspective gaze, a pose intentionally chosen to represent the act of avoiding external stimuli for a deeper self-observation. Her weathered features, rendered with meticulous detail, reflect a lifetime of experience, while her serene expression suggests a moment of seclusion from the outside world to find inner peace. Against a deep black background, a soft, warm golden glow emerges around her, symbolizing the inner light and harmony discovered in silence. Created with pastels, the piece features a vibrant, multicolored headdress that contrasts with her serene demeanor, offering a poignant tribute to the strength and clarity found in the practice of introspection.
