Telefo and Achilles, the open wound

In Greek mythology, Telephus is wounded by Achilles during the Trojan War. The oracle later reveals a paradox: only the one who inflicted the wound can heal it.

The painting captures the fragile moment in which violence and healing converge. The bodies appear intertwined in a suspended gesture, where the spear that opened the wound becomes the instrument of its possible cure.
