Artwork details
A grey face emerges through overlapping washes and long vertical marks. Fragments of the eyes, nose and mouth remain visible above a darker lower passage. In this original abstract portrait, Gela Mikava treats the face as an unstable image, suspended between recognition and disappearance rather than a complete description of an individual.
