The Strength of Balance

Oil on canvas, worked with a brush and palette knife.

An intense red dominates this abstract composition, intersected by vertical bands and horizontal accents in pink and dark tones. The lines organise the space, creating tension between expansive colour and precise marks.

Variations across the surface and subtly irregular edges preserve the artist’s gesture, bringing sensitivity to the geometric structure. The work explores balance as a living relationship between forces: intensity and restraint, movement and stillness. It is a search for harmony in which each line supports, interrupts or transforms the energy of colour.
