Veiled Face in Ochre — Abstract Portrait

A face is partially concealed beneath a pale grey veil of descending paint, set against warm ochre and peach tones. Dark contours and fragments of the eyes and mouth remain visible between the vertical marks, while inverted handwriting crosses the upper field. This original abstract portrait by Gela Mikava explores the tension between recognition and concealment: the face persists even as its features become difficult to read. Painted in 2022 with acrylic and oil on fabric. Dimensions: 100 × 80 cm (height × width).
