INTERVALLUM
Artwork details
I am interested in how a structure can hold without becoming an answer. Horizontal bands of crimson, darkness, yellow and green organise the canvas like levels that might separate times, heights or zones of passage. Yet drips, seepage and incisions make their edges uncertain. In the wide yellow band, an earth-coloured circle stays isolated on the right, while a small group of coloured squares gathers near the lower edge. Above, red rectangles remain suspended. Faint incised stairs suggest a connection between places without promising ascent or arrival. The interval of the title is not an empty gap but an active distance: a space between divisions that have not yet closed, where the eye can find its own route.
