BIJOUTERIE I — The Face Withheld

BIJOUTERIE I — The Face Withheld by Gela Mikava. A faceless frontal figure stands against an intense yellow field. Patterned fabric applied to the cardboard forms elongated ornaments that suggest jewellery and inherited decorative motifs. Painting and textile share the surface, placing the anonymous figure between visibility and concealment. The work belongs to the BIJOUTERIE series.
