Synopsis: Maudie, el color de la vida (Aisling Walsh, 2017) tells the story of Maud Dowley (Sally Hawkins), a cheerful, lively woman who dreams of breaking away from her overprotective family. Everett Lewis (Ethan Hawke) is a surly local fisherman looking for a housekeeper. After seeing his ad, Maudie soon moves into Everett's small, isolated house to take care of the chores. But what starts out as a difficult arrangement between two complete opposites slowly turns into a beautiful love story.

Based on real events, the film tells the story of Canadian painter Maud Lewis, of her relationship with the man who became her inseparable life companion, Everett Lewis, and of how her simple paintings came to be seen and recognised in every corner of the country, making her one of Canada's most emblematic folk artists.
