The Museum of Modern Art MoMA (New York, USA) presents the exhibition Cindy Sherman, a retrospective tracing the groundbreaking artist’s career from the mid-1970s to the present.

The Metropolitan Museum of Art, (New York, USA) organizes The Steins Collect. Matisse, Picasso and the Parisian Avant Garde. The exhibition looks at the history of an out-of-the-ordinary family: the Steins. They were the first people to buy Matisses and Picassos and they also received the entire avant-garde into their homes and thus built up one of the most astonishing collections of modern art.

An exhibition of previously unseen works by US artist Richard Prince has made its world debut at the Museo Picasso Málaga (Spain). Over the last two years, the artist has painted canvases, along with a number of collages and photo-collages.

One of the most influential Italian artists of the twentieth century, Alighiero Boetti (1940-1994) is subject of a major exhibition at Tate Modern (London, United Kingdom). Alighiero Boetti: Game Plan is the first large-scale retrospective of Boetti's work to be held outside Italy in over a decade highlighting his often playful exploration of numeric, linguistic and classificatory systems, as well as his engagement with the people and politics of Afghanistan.

The Museo Thyssen-Bornemisza (Madrid, Spain) is holding the first exhibition in Spain of a selection of South Asian paintings from the San Diego Museum of Art, California. The exhibition will offer visitors a unique opportunity to appreciate the entire evolution of Indian painting from the 12th to the mid-19th centuries through 106 paintings, prints and manuscripts.
