A new display at the National Portrait Gallery of London, (United Kingdom), marks the 400thanniversary of the birth of the artist William Dobson

Commemorating the 10-year anniversary of the terrorist attacks on September 11, 2001, the Museum of Contemporary Art of Chicago and the Metropolitan Museum of Art of New York, (USA), organize two exhibitions in remembrance of the many lives lost and affected by those tragic events.

The Imperial War Museum London, (United Kingdom), marks the 10th Anniversary of 9/11 with the opening of the exhibition Memory Remains, a photographic exploration of Hangar 17 by artist Francesc Torres.

Drawing primarily from the Getty Museum's permanent collection, In the Beginning Was the Word: Medieval Gospel Illumination, on display until November 27, 2011, at the J. Paul Getty Museum, Getty Center, (USA), examines the decoration associated with the Gospels, including portraits of the four Evangelists, and explores the varied approaches to illustrating the life of Christ.

The Royal Museums of Fine Arts of Belgium presents the exhibition Art and Finance in Europe-18th Century Masterworks in a new light, which is composed of some 20 major works from the museum's collection.
