The National Museum of Visual Arts in Uruguay, in collaboration with the Ministry of Foreign Affairs and Cooperation of Spain, presents the exhibition Giant Polaroid 50x60, which consists of an extensive series of photographs taken with one of the world’s biggest cameras that are capable of producing large prints of 50 x 60 cm.
The photographs, which belong to the Andalusian Centre of Photography (CAF) are the work of renowned authors Chema Madoz, Juan Manuel Castro, Manuel Vilariño, Mónica León, Roberto Chicharro, Manuel Fakes, Ricardo Martin, Toni Catany, Leela and Ouka Josep Vicent Monzo.
The birth of Polaroid’s cameras and films in the mid-forties was a revolution in the way of creating images and a change in the concept of contemporary photography.
