The Museum of Latin American Art of Buenos Aires (Malba - Fundación Costantini) hosts a selection of historical drawings and recent paintings by artist Ricardo Garabito (Lauquen Dam, 1930), an exponent of Argentine painting of the twentieth century.
The exhibition includes 32 drawings painted by the artist between 1972 and 1982. These works on paper, made with different techniques (pencil, gouache and watercolor), have the human figure as the main topic. In addition, the exhibition displays a set of 15 oil paintings made between 1998 and 2011, which portrait still life and everyday items.
Along with the exhibition, the Malba edits a catalog that includes the text Garabito: la desmesura de lo mínimo, written by the artist Juan Carlos Distéfano, as well as fragments of the text of Samuel Oliver included in the collective exhibition catalog Premio Benson & Hedges al Nuevo Grabado y Pintura en Argentina and the text written by Samuel Paz for Garabito retrospective exhibition held at Centro Cultural Recoleta (Buenos Aires, 1998).
