Van Gogh Museum (Amsterdam)
On Friday nights the Van Gogh Museum is open until 10pm. Every Friday night, lounge chairs, video projections, live music, DJs and a bar transform the museum’s central hall into a relaxed place to meet. Do not miss the guided tour through the exhibition Van Gogh in Antwerp and Paris: New Perspectives, - Friday 12 August at 19pm- and the jazz concert by pianist Maartje Meijer.
National Gallery (London)
The National Gallery opens on Fridays until 9pm and offers a full program of events, talks and tours. Enjoy the concert Renaissance Song by Candlelight on Friday from 9pm. Admission free.
De Young Museum (San Francisco)
Friday Nights at the de Young offers a variety of interdisciplinary arts programs, including live music, poetry, films, dance, tours and talks. The café is open with a special Friday Nights dinner menu. This Friday, the museum will present Live South American music by Quijeremá: De Guerra, Gitanos y el Corazon: Picasso, Lorca, y Neruda. Quijeremá is a group of artists from Europe and Latin America who came together in Spain to combine different aesthetic forms in the early 20th century.
Whitney Museum (New York)
On the occasion of its twentieth anniversary, the band Medeski Martin & Wood will play at the Whitney Museum of American Art every Friday night of August, from 18pm to 19pm. Admission free.
Museo Reina Sofia (Madrid)
The Reina Sofia Museum has extended its hours on Fridays and Saturdays throughout the whole summer so you can visit, until 11pm and for free, the first floor of Sabatini’s building, which hosts the exhibition dedicated to Japanese artist Yayoi Kusama, and the room that holds the sculpture of Richard Serra. In addition, visitors will have the chance to enjoy the Sabatini gardens, where a coffee bar has been installed.
